The EPA's new Lead and Copper Rule requires water systems to remove lead service lines from the water system. To meet the new requirements, the water system must identify and have a record of all water lines in the system including the customer's private lines. The State of West Virginia has given the water system until October 16, 2024, to complete the inventory of all water lines. With your help, we hope to complete this requirement well before the deadline.
Building and Development

The City of Grafton's Building and Development division is responsible for overseeing construction-related activities within the community. This includes reviewing and issuing building permits, ensuring that new construction and renovation projects meet safety and structural standards, and enforcing local building codes and property standards. They help make sure buildings are safe and compliant with regulations, monitor code violations such as unsafe structures or overgrown lots, and work with developers, property owners, and planning agencies to support orderly growth and development within the City's limits.
